IT ADMINISTRATOR

The Goethe-Institut Athen with its premises in Omirou 14-16 is seeking applications for the role of IT Administrator starting 01.05.2024 in full time position.

The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global reach. We promote knowledge of the German language abroad and foster international cultural cooperation.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The IT Administrator is ultimately responsible for overall management of IT issues. As such, s/he will:

• User support: setting up email, user IDs, questions regarding the use of workstation software (Windows, Office, etc.)
• Complete Services for approx. 75 Workstations plus laptops, iPads
• Setting up, connecting and changing workstation devices such as PCs, notebooks, smartphones, tablet PCs, printers, scanners, video conferencing systems
• Support of devices in the classroom such as smartboards, teacher PCs, PCs in self-study centers, iPads
• Network support (switches, LAN cabling, WLAN access points, firewall, MPLS and DSL connections)
• Support of the local IT infrastructure (network, server) and local applications (file server, media server, telephone system, administration software)
• Setting up Teleconferences in the premises if required
• Setting up Video Streaming services for events if required
• 1st level troubleshooting (local and remote) in a Windows environment (German version)
• Liaising with our central IT regarding 2nd level support
• Updating the software to the respective requirements in cooperation with our Central IT
• Co-operation with the administration department on administrative matters and purchases, e.g. hardware

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Higher education degree relevant to the position
• At least 3 years’ relevant professional experience
• Excellent communication, negotiations, and presentation skills
• Proficiency in English and Greek
• Good knowledge of conversational German language (B2)
• Ability to work as a team as well as under minimal supervision
