How can music be more easily integrated into different cultures? Does migration change the process of creating and producing musical works? In a series of workshops, mentorings and music classes in July, four artists/music producers experimented and explored their methods and approaches in creating musical works. The Threshold project becomes a platform for research and experimentation in the creation of works on the subject of migration & movement, and it opens up various possibilities in areas such as co-production, improvisation and even the use of artificial intelligence in the creation of musical works. Arum Dayu, Methclass, HRTS and Winda AG with their respective disciplines and interests add color and a broader perspective to migration & movement in the creation of musical works through cross-traditions, cross-disciplines, and even cross-ideas.
The outcome of the Threshold project will be showcased in an open studio, presenting the creative process and including dialogs with the artists prior to the performance. A series of musical performances will serve as the final presentation of the process and program series during the Threshold project.
