The F Word - Artist Open Call

The F Word is a year-long cross-border cultural programme linking Ireland, France, and Germany. Led by Beta Festival in partnership with the French Embassy in Ireland, Alliance Française Dublin, Goethe-Institut Irland and the German Embassy in Dublin, it explores issues such as disinformation, polarisation, and resistance in today’s digitally connected world.

The programme brings together artists, researchers, journalists, technologists, and young people to examine how truth, authority, and belonging are shaped in increasingly polarised online spaces, while also creating opportunities for dialogue and new forms of exchange.

A key element of the programme is the commissioning of three artists — one each from Ireland, France, and Germany — to create new work responding to these themes. These artists will not only produce work but also actively contribute to shaping the programme’s broader collaborative and participatory experience.

Each selected artist will receive a €3,000 fee, with the resulting works presented at Beta Festival in November 2026. The open call is available to artists of all ages who are from or currently based in Ireland, France, or Germany.

The application deadline is Monday, 8 June at 5pm, with support available via info@betafestival.ie for any submission issues.
