Library

Lending Service

In our library you will find books, magazines, films, and music in German. Our translated titles also offer non-German readers the opportunity to discover German literature, culture, society, politics and current events. We also have an emphasis in our collection on materials for learning German as a foreign language.

Registration and Library Membership

The library is open to the public and books and materials can be borrowed free of charge. A valid user ID is required to borrow media. To do this, you must register with us in person at the library.

Registrations and membership renewals can only be completed during consultation hours.

Please read the data protection regulations and the terms of use before registering.

Using the library's online catalogue (OPAC) you can browse our media around the clock and get an overview of the books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, and electronic resources available in our collection.

If you are a library member, you can create your own user account in the online catalog (OPAC).
The personalized use of the OPAC offers you the following advantages:
  • Display the media you have borrowed including due date
  • Extension of the loan period for your media
  • Insight into open and paid fees
  • Submission of acquisition suggestions for the library's media collection
  • Comment on the media
