Checker Tobi und die Reise zu den fliegenden Flüssen

We will have showings of kids' movies at the Goethe-Institut Irland up to three times per term. The recommend for the movies will alternate from 0-7 and 7-12 years. The showings will take place on saturdays after the Kids' Courses, between 1.15 and 2.15 pm.

The film in March will be Checker Tobi und die Reise zu den fliegenden Flüssen (92 Min, 2023). Directed by Johannes Honsell, starring Tobias Krell, Marina M. Blanke, und Klaas Heufer-Umlauf.

Checker Tobi, known to children in Germany for his show of the same name, is on a kind of scavenger hunt in this film: he has been given a secret treasure chest. In order to open it, he has to go on a journey. The journey takes him to Vietnam, to the largest cave in the world, to the famous Halong Bay, across the stormy South China Sea to nomads in the Mongolian steppe and finally to Brazil in the Amazon rainforest. Checker Tobi gets to know a lot of people, but he also learns in every place how much the environment is in danger. A children's film that is also a winner for adults thanks to its topic (ecology/sustainability) and its refreshing nature, its successful mix of entertainment and information.
