Join us for a dreamy and creative evening in the Goethe-Institut Irland as we write poetry inspired by the moon.

Let us be moon-poets for a night!

With renowned artist Luke Jerram’s Museum of the Moon taking up residence in Merrion Square as part of Science Week 2025, we want to invite you to create your own moon-inspired art. Open to everyone aged 17 and above, this event welcomes poetry novices and writers of all proficiency levels.

We will start with a short introduction to warm up and shake off any potential self-consciousness about putting pen to paper to create poetry. Afterwards, everyone will be encouraged to follow along in our prompt-guided free writing exercises. In a final step, participants are welcome to create their own poetry, inspired by two carefully selected poems that will once more function as prompts.

This poetry workshop seeks to show all those interested in the creation of poems some creative ways to start writing. It is, however, not meant to be a lecture but rather serves as a creative safe space for everyone.

We are delighted to welcome Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan, a distinguished Dublin-based writer, performer and cultural consultant, as our guest to this event. She will be joining us to share some of her work and creative insights and to support participants in their writing process, alongside our host Nina Schulze from the Goethe-Institut Irland.
