Interactive Narratives and Seed Diversity
August 24th 2024 | IMDR Auditorium, Pune
The symposium’s second day focused on storytelling and immersive experiences. Arundhati Mhatre from the Gram Art Project kicked things off with a lively session of interactive games, weaving lessons of seed conservation into playful activities that underscored the cultural significance of seeds.
Next, Shamika Mone from the Organic Farming Association of India (OFAI) highlighted inspiring stories of seed savers from around the country. Her session showcased the extraordinary dedication of grassroots efforts to preserve genetic diversity—ensuring that indigenous seeds remain a living legacy for future generations.
The day culminated in a seed mini-exhibition organised by the National Gene Campaign for Plant Resources (NGCPR). This display illuminated the incredible variety of seeds cultivated across different regions of India and reinforced the vital role such diversity plays in sustaining agricultural and ecological resilience.
