KinoFest: Prelude

Before the big screen lights up at KinoFest, German film is already making its way around the city!

KinoFest Prelude is a series of intimate film screenings held in the weeks leading up to the KinoFest: German Film Festival. In partnership with selected venues and institutions, Goethe-Institut brings German films to different audiences and spaces, offering an early glimpse into the diverse world of German cinema.

From university spaces and creative institutions to the Goethe-Institut Library, each Prelude screening creates an opportunity to discover German films in a more focused and intimate setting. The programme features mostly German films, including selected titles that may not be part of this year’s KinoFest film roster.

KinoFest Prelude leads into KinoFest: German Film Festival, Goethe-Institut’s annual celebration of contemporary German cinema alongside specially curated local selections.

KinoFest 2026 takes place from October 15–18, 2026, at GH Ortigas Cinema, Greenhills Mall.
