Does history repeat itself? Adapted from Gordon Thomas’ and Max Morgan-Witts’ 1974 best-selling book of the same name, Rosenberg’s acclaimed dramatization depicts the fateful 1939 voyage of over 900 Jewish refugees, who in an effort to flee Nazi Germany boarded the German cruise liner, MS St. Louis, bound for the safety of Havana, Cuba. 
Unbeknownst to its Captain, crew, and passengers, the MS St. Louis, was never intended to find a friendly port. Instead, the Nazis used the voyage as a propaganda tool, in an effort to portray the Jews as an international pariah; unwelcome throughout the world. Comprised of cast of well-known international actors, accompanied by a moving score composed by Lalo Schifrin, the film follows the trials of the ship’s passengers, as they gradually become aware of the geopolitical scope of their voyage.
