Professional training courses for Goethe-Institut examiners
Goethe-Institut examinations are conducted exclusively by Goethe-Institut certified examiners whose qualification consists of both training courses and an online certification process on a regular basis.
The next training courses A1-C2 for examiners at Goethe-Institut examination centers in the USA will be offered in March 2026. To register for the trainings please contact your supervising Goethe-Insitut. You can find them here.
Training sessions are available only to examiners who are either actively conducting exams at one of our official exam centers in the USA, Central America, or Canada, or who are actively planning to do so. If you are new to an examination center in our region, please contact us at exams-usa@goethe.de. Unfortunately, examiners who do not have an active affiliation with one of our exam centers are not eligible to participate.
The Goethe-Institut examiner certification process – performed online - assesses the examiner’s testing proficiency in comparison with all Goethe-Institut examiners worldwide. It must be renewed every three years per examiner/exam. Register exclusively via the Goethe-Institut branch office responsible for the examination center. A successful completion of a training in the same year is a mandatory prerequisite for participation in the certification process.
Registration deadline for each training is 2 weeks before that training starts.
