LACUSTRE
Waters and shores of Mexico and Berlin

Projects 2024 | Round 14

Coproduction partners: Elena Pardo (Mexico), Claudia Schmitz (Germany)

LACUSTRE is dedicated to one of the most important issues of our time, the use of water as a resource. The project raises questions about the history of the cities of Mexico and Berlin, the colonial and post-colonial heritage, the knowledge embedded in both cultures and the possibility of reactivating a better relation with the environment, specifically with weather bodies.

In the form of real-time performances, the artists from Mexico and Berlin use artistic research, field recordings and individual artifacts found on site to bring this topic to the stage, opening up a space of experience with diverse approaches for the audience.

LACUSTRE aims to develop a common artistic language in a transmedial, barrier-free way, across national borders and artistic disciplines and cultures. It creates an environment for cultural and creative exchange.
