Europanetzwerk Deutsch Podcast

In the 2. season of our podcast, leading figures from politics, civil society and science explain under the slogan "They are changing Germany"succinctly which areas need change. Each episode is max. 15 minutes long and can be accessed on this page or be downloaded for later.

In addition, you can use a work sheet and a solution sheet to work through any linguistic peculiarities that are explained in the individual podcast episodes. But that's not all: You'll also find a vocabulary list per episode to clarify small ambiguities.

Episode 15: Against homelessness

No matter how many there are exactly, every human is too many. Corinna Müncho is chair of the federal association Housing First. She explains what needs to be done.

Episode 14: Save bogs

In the meantime, 95% of the German bogs have been drained, according to the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union of Germany - these bogs are among the largest emitters of CO2. Professor Dr Hans Joosten is looking for solutions to revive and protect bogs.

Episode 12: Accessibility

The law is supposed to implement the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the prohibition of discrimination in the Basic Law. Raúl Krauthausen is one of those who closely monitors the laws and their implementation. In 2013, he received the Federal Cross of Merit for his work. What is the current state of accessibility in Germany? ​​​

Episode 8: Empower minorities

Nina Böhmer is not the only nurse and activist who denounces the conditions in the hospital and nursing sector. She has tried to change the situation through a book, appearances on talk shows and a meeting with the Minister of Health.
