METALOGUES 2022: LIVE EVENTS AT BEYOND-EXPO

Metalogues2022 is a 3-part event, designed to encourage and explore XR collaborations in the cultural space. The third part of the programme will conclude with the live presentation of the four eXtended Reality (XR) projects supported by the programme, by their creators, at the Beyond new technology Expo which will take place from Thursday 29 September to Saturday 1 October 2022 at the Thessaloniki International Fair.

Metalogues participates in the Expo with presentations and all-day demonstrations of the proof-of-concept artworks resulting from the participation of artists, cultural institutions and XR production companies in the programme. Visitors have a unique opportunity to immerse themselves into the ideas of six Greek artists through Virtual Reality (VR) glasses at the specially designed stand of Metalogues.

In his talk A Billion People in a Box: the Cultural Exchange of the Metaverse, Daniel Colaianni, Chief Executive at The Academy of International Extended Reality - AIXR, explores the cultural impact of the Metaverse - a virtual world that encompasses all of humanity - and delves into new derivative challenges, such as protecting freedom of speech at scale, integrating into the fabric of organisations and the skills and support needed for creatives to truly flourish.

Saturday 01. 10. 2022, 15:00-18:00
The artistic group Die Wolke from Thessaloniki, participates with the following events:
Δtopia: a hybrid contemporary dance performance based on the electronic interaction of movement and sound.
Sound and body conversing: a brief overview of methodologies for linking movement and sound in creative contexts by Dani Jos, artistic director of Die Wolke.
Stream: city: A movement-sound interactive piece based on wearable inertial sensors. Members of the audience will be able to wear wrist bands with wireless sensors and produce sound based on movement. All events are held in English.
