The redeveloped Primary Curriculum Framework (NCCA, 2023) now includes a Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Specification, highlighting the growing emphasis on multilingual education. Post-Primary Languages Ireland (PPLI) is collaborating with the Goethe-Institut and other providers to deliver suitable courses to support teachers in upskilling in their language of their choice to prepare for the introduction of the redeveloped Primary Curriculum Framework.

These courses are designed to enhance foreign language competence among primary teachers and to enable teachers to effectively teach foreign languages to primary school children in stage 4 (5th and 6th class).
