An art camp for teenagers in response to the summer exhibition "Future Perfect" with artist Lilian Scholtes.

The Future is already made. Its course is set, ways are predetermined. This aspect of the past is stressed by the title of the exhibition "Future Perfect" and therefore creates a fatalistic scenario of our future in which it appears to be predestined and without any alternative.

At the same time, the exhibition attempts to establish an alternative vision to contrast this idea of linearity and predestination. Here, the future is not perceived as a linear chain of events, but as a kind of road network in which the individual has to decide at every corner which way to go. At this exact point the workshop sets in. The involvement with the exhibition becomes a construction site where the participants construct their own individual scope of action. It is not about the accomplishment of a certain goal, but the process of translation that enables a creation of a room for action and thinking – here lies an emancipatory momentum.

Humorous and ironic artworks in this show operate at the interface of art and life and teenagers are invited to engage in this unique workshop through art-making and participatory actions.
