A Hundred Letters / Road Number Zero © Devashish Sharma © Devashish Sharma Road number zero is located between Delhi and Gurgaon, and is home to a diverse range of spaces, people, objects and processes. As zero has no positional value, the naming of a space as zero causes the site and its contents to experience a loss of referentiality. Using the road as a metaphor for the larger phenomena of relocation, displacement and loss of reference, and the inevitable recreation of a referentiality that is experienced in the act of inhabiting space and time, the project intends to initiate dialogues about the social and aesthetic forces that produced and guide the progress of Road Number Zero. A Hundred Letters is an invitation for people to reflect and respond to the documentation of the road that will be presented at Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan.
