Fünfzig Jahre nach ihrem Tod zeigt sich Hannah Arendts Denken aktueller denn je. In dieser Ausgabe beleuchten wir ihr Leben und Werk aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven und laden dazu ein, ihre Fragen nach Freiheit, Verantwortung und Urteilskraft im Licht gegenwärtiger Herausforderungen neu zu betrachten. Dabei fragen wir uns: was bedeutet es heute, in Arendts Sinne zu denken und zu handeln?

    The documentary portrays the influential philosopher and thinker Hannah Arendt, whose life and work were deeply intertwined with the upheavals of the 20th century. The film combines personal letters and essays with archival footage, presenting Arendt as a Jew, an activist, and a keen observer of her time.

    'Contemplating the Active Life: Hannah Arendt'

    2025 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Hannah Arendt, one of the most original thinkers of the twentieth century and amongst the finest minds thinking and writing in the German language. The Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi is planning a commemoration that will take the form of a 3-day long celebration of Arendt’s life and work, to highlight its continuing and renewed relevance, especially for artists, poets, philosophers, performers, and for all people who continue to try and love this troubled world, in difficult times.
