Art Evolution JURY

Mey Seifan is a Syrian choreographer, lecturer, cultural manager and activist. Studied at the Ballett Conservatory in Damascus and the HfMDK Frankfurt as well as LMU Munich. Throughout her career, she has directed many performances, cultural projects, festivals and worked at the Goethe-Institut Damascus. Alongside her work in several other projects, she is currently a supervisor of the artist training programme at the Berlin Career College of the UDK Berlin.

Matthias Lilienthal is a German dramaturge, festival curator and artistic director. In the 1990s, he was head dramaturge at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, Berlin. In 2002 he was programme director of Theater der Welt, where he developed the format "X-Apartments", which was later realized in many different cities around the world. He was artistic director and managing director of HAU (Hebbel am Ufer) in Berlin and held the professorship for the Home Workspace Programme at Ashkal Alwan in Beirut. Later on, he curated the programme of Theater der Welt in Mannheim and was the director of the Münchner Kammerspiele till 2020.

Isabel Hölzl studied classical and contemporary dance at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main and at the Pontificia Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil. She worked as a cultural manager for international productions for various institutions in São Paulo, before she began working on the cultural department of the Goethe-Institut São Paulo in 2011, where she conducted dance and theatre productions and developed programmes on sustainability and on the "Global South". Afterwards she worked as a coordinator for dance in the department of theatre and dance at the headquarters of the Goethe-Institut in Munich. Since 2017 she is the head of the Goethe-Institut Finland.

Tony Chakar is a Lebanese artist, architect and storyteller whose work incorporates literature, philosophy, and theory which has been included in numerous exhibitions internationally. His latest solo show, "As in a Beginning", was exhibited at the Van Abbemuseum. His latest group show is in the exhibition "Wednesday Society: The Couch of Meret O" (In collaboration with the Istanbul Biennial, 2019). He also teaches architecture and art at the Académie Libanaise des Beaux arts.
 

Amanda Abi Khalil is an independent Lebanese curator and art worker whose practice has been focusing on knowledge production and mediation of contemporary art. She is the founder and director of TAP (Temporary Art Platform), a non-profit that values social inclusion and deeper engagement between artists and communities, explores collaborative and participatory approaches and advocates for public art in Lebanon. She held teaching positions in several universities in Lebanon (ALBA, USJ and AUB) and curated numerous exhibitions, public art commissions and other social practice formats in and with International art institutions.
