The project “Enhancing the Correspondent Network of Radio Television of Vojvodina – Preservation of National Minority Cultures in AP Vojvodina” is part of the program “Innovation.Media.Minds: Support to Public Service Media in the Western Balkans,” funded by the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut on behalf of the European Commission, in cooperation with the partner organization DW Akademie.

Radio Television of Vojvodina has for decades represented a European model in broadcasting programs in the languages of national minorities. RTV broadcasts daily programs in the languages of all national communities living in the territory of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.

A special role in this work is carried out by our correspondents – multimedia journalists who, on a daily basis and from locations across Vojvodina, produce informational content in various formats for television, radio, and web programs. They report in sixteen languages, including Serbian, Hungarian, Romanian, Slovak, Bunjevac, Rusyn, Croatian, Montenegrin, Romani, Ukrainian, Macedonian, Albanian, Czech, Bulgarian, Russian, and German.

In 2023 alone, correspondents of Radio Television of Vojvodina produced more than 15,000 different journalistic formats, which represents more than half of RTV’s total news and informational programming—a result that confirms their crucial role within the public service broadcasting system.

However, according to the Needs Assessment Report prepared at the beginning of the program by DW Akademie and the Goethe-Institut, the correspondent offices were technically insufficiently equipped compared to the modern working conditions available in the new RTV complex in Novi Sad.

For this reason, the project was carefully designed to modernize the correspondent network, improve technological and journalistic standards, and provide working conditions aligned with European public service media practices.

The objective is clear: to ensure that Radio Television of Vojvodina continues to serve as a guardian of the cultural identity and languages of national minorities, while promoting dialogue, mutual understanding, and cohesion among all citizens of Vojvodina.

The project included the procurement of equipment for the correspondent network, primarily mobile journalism (MoJo) kits, as well as a comprehensive one-year training program aimed at improving journalistic standards. During the year, the following trainings were conducted:

• Mobile Journalism (MoJo)
• Reporting and Storytelling
• Planning and Editing
• Social Media Management
