Coordinator for Communication and Public Relations

The Goethe-Institut is seeking a motivated team member for communication and public relations, starting from 01 April 2026. The position is initially limited to one year with the possibility of extension (40 hours/week).

The Goethe-Institut is the Federal Republic of Germany’s cultural institute, active worldwide. We promote the study of German abroad and encourage international cultural exchange. As the globally active cultural institution of the Federal Republic of Germany, we advocate for understanding between Germany, Europe, and the world.

As the COORDINATOR FOR COMMUNICATION AND PUBLIC RELATIONS, your tasks will include:

  • Conception and implementation of communication strategies and campaigns (definition of key messages, formats, time frame, budget, etc.) for selected projects and themes
  • Coordination of the communication team at the Goethe-Institut New Delhi
  • Production and publication of content for the institute's social media and the website goethe.de/india in consultation with the information team
  • Press and public relations (print, television, radio, online media), supervision and creation of the institute’s newsletter, production of print and merchandising items
  • Maintenance and expansion of long-term media contacts and partnerships, organisation of press events
  • Supporting all Goethe-Institutes in the region South Asia with the communication of projects
  • Quality management of public relations, including corporate design, quality standards, and media response
  • Design and editing of print and online publications
Requirements:
  • University degree or equivalent knowledge/skills in the field of communication, PR and marketing, journalism and online journalism, and related fields
  • Proven professional experience in the area of communication and social media of a cultural institution
  • Strong copywriting/text writing skills, professional experience in creating content for online media
  • Experience in writing and editing press releases
  • Very good language skills in English and Hindi; knowledge of German an asset but not mandatory; willingness to learn German on the job
  • Very good knowledge of the media landscape in India
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications as well as photo editing programs (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team
