Record Number of Submissions in 2013

The submission period for the Science Film Festival 2013 has closed for this year's edition. We received a tremendous response from filmmakers, producers and broadcasters with a festival record of 264 films from 40 countries worldwide.

Our next step is presenting the films to pre-juries in all Science Film Festival 2013 countries: Cambodia, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Palestine, the Philippines, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam. This will take place throughout June and July, after which we will send notifications to those who have submitted films for consideration. The official festival programme will be publicly announced on this website in August.

The Science Film Festival takes place internationally from October 7 - December 15. The exact date in each country is announced together with the official film selection.

We are also happy to announce that the Science Film Festival is being initiated this year in four countries in North Africa and the Middle East and we are taking this opportunity to reconstruct and re-launch our website in June.

The festival organizers would like to extend their sincere thanks to all filmmakers, producers and broadcasters for such overwhelming interest and support for the initiative. We are looking forward to breaking new horizons in 2013 and sharing the exciting world of science communication through film and television at the highest international level.
