Things are not going well for cameraman Armin. At the age of 40 he feels disillusioned and lost. After a botched up TV shoot he leaves the city and visits his father just in time to see his grand-mother die. He takes off again. His aimless escape from himself could go on forever, but then he finds that suddenly all other humans have disappeared. Is this another one of life’s cruel tricks or a welcome opportunity?
In his sympathetic portrait of a lost soul, Köhler creates a scenario that allows himself, his protagonist and us to speculate about what one would do if suddenly all was possible, but there was no one to share it with. How would one choose to live and what are the pressures if there is perhaps another person and you are the last humans on the planet?
