Dis Fig aka Felicia Chen

Dis Fig aka Felicia Chen joins the community for a three-month residency from February 2024, with a focus on developing new processes of production and performance which will delve more into improvisation. We caught up with Dis Fig to find out what she is looking forward to most about her time in London, her artistic mission for her new solo work and the other creative projects she is involved with.

Literary Discussion: Sisters in Arms

In a compelling in-conversation event on 8th of February 2024, we were immersed in Sisters in Arms, an explosive feminist and anti-racist novel by acclaimed author Shida Bazyar. New Books in German's director Sarah Hemens and translator Ruth Martin also took part in the dialogue. 

As a follow up from the Q&A session, we spoke to Shida, Ruth and Sarah to find out more about how literature can help us address pressing socio-political concerns.

From the 20th until the 22nd of October, Berlin's infamous CTM festival will be transported to London for the first time through a collaboration with the ICA. We spoke to the co-founder and artistic director Jan Rohlf and the head of international events James Grabsch about what's in store. The festival is supported by the Goethe-Institut London and the Goethe-Institut in Exile.

On the 26th of April, the pan-European orchestral collective s t a r g a z e, conducted by André de Ridder, will collaborate with electro-musician Carsten Nicolai aka Alva Noto for a live instrumental, audio-visual performance at the Barbican.
