Free Seminar The Language Magician
Saturday, 15.10.2016,  12:30 – 1:15pm, room 4

Ten partners from four European countries are working together to develop a computer game which helps teachers to assess progression in foreign language learning. Languages included are English, German, Spanish, Italian and French. The aim is to develop a fun game called THE LANGUAGE MAGICIAN that builds on language and IT-skills and provides information on pupil progress. The project started in October 2015 in the UK and was coordinated by the Goethe-Institut London. In this seminar, teachers can find out how the tool was designed. They will also get a preview of some of the activities and can discuss the unique opportunities it is giving teachers in the foreign language classroom.

Free Seminar Oral Skills Using Ideas from Digital Networks
Saturday, 15.10.2016, 3:00 - 4:00pm , room 1

This session will concentrate on the development of oral skills in the primary foreign language classroom. Hands-on activities will explore teaching phonics and pronunciation but also look at assessing the results and sharing best practice examples digitally (examples from SMART CHOICE GERMAN networks). Teachers of other languages are very welcome. Teaching languages at primary level being mandatory means that many non-specialists are required to teach it. Our seminar will support them and help raise the quality of their lessons.

The seminar will be followed by a wine reception for teachers.
The seminar and reception are free of charge though registration is essential - please register on our stand 500 beforehand.
