Electronic duo Factory Floor return to Sensoria to present the northern premiere performance of their new live score to Fritz Lang’s Metropolis as part of the Sheffield based film and music festival.

2017 is the 90th anniversary of the release of Metropolis. Widely regarded as a pioneering work of cinematic science fiction, Metropolis depicts a dystopian future where a decadent ruling class of industrialists rule over an underclass of downtrodden, exploited workers, who eventually rebel against their plight. The film is the 150-minute reconstructed and restored 2010 version (including 25 minutes of footage previously thought lost).

The event will take place against the atmospheric backdrop of the Face of Steel at Magna, the site of what used to be a steel mill.

Factory Floor
are Nik Void and Gabriel Gurnsey, whose intense postindustrial electronic sound is as much at home at club nights as it is in art galleries, cinemas or rock shows. They've collaborated with members of New Order, Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle and their latest album, 25 25, was released in 2016 through James Murphy's influential DFA Records.

There will be demos by Sheffield Robotics before the screening.

Doors 3.45pm; screening 4.30pm. The venue is also wheelchair accessible.
