Regional cooperation creates new colors of public service broadcasters

My visit to RTCG brought me much more than I had expected. Even earlier, while filming an episode of the “Gradolovac Podgorica”, I had already seen that the people at RTCG are great professionals, as well as friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina and outstanding colleagues.

During this visit, I toured almost all of RTCG’s editorial departments and production units, exchanging ideas and discussing the challenges and issues they face. I also took part in a radio show, which particularly impressed me, as well as in the morning program where we promoted this visit and grant: Innovation. Media. Minds.

Furthermore, I had the opportunity to learn about the concept of a program that brings together radio, television, and other digital broadcasting channels of RTCG. “Pop Top” is a music show that combines three different broadcasting channels and integrates them into one universal concept full of music, conversations, and interesting content. It inspired me to create something similar at Federalna TV, and the realization will begin soon.

My story with the Goethe-Institut doesn't end in Podgorica. As a journalist for a smaller TV station, we've always looked up to Croatian Radio and Television (HRT) as a big brother. We looked to their shows for inspiration and ideas. I finally got the chance to visit this big network, and it was a really great experience for me.

When I arrived, editor Igor Grković welcomed me, showed me around their studios, and talked about ways our TV stations could work together. Thanks to editor Tomislav Mršić, I met many experts and professionals. But the best part of my visit was watching them film Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? As a kid, I loved watching this show, and now I was right there in person seeing how it all comes together.
