Verena Regensburger created the play My Name Is I Love You, which will be presented on Friday, December 7, during her bangaloREsidency@Abhinaya Taranga.

The creation of the play was a joint development by the German theatre director and the Bangalore actors Raghu Dayear, Ajay Sharma and Vishal Patil. During the first weeks of their collaboration, the four used intensive talks focusing on the different cultural contexts to get inspired for the topic and the script.

The outcome - My Name Is I Love You - offers an insight to the obstacles three young men have to deal in their pursuit of love:

Sometimes in life it’s hard to choose.

Sometimes in life you have to choose – Between waking up and hitting the snooze. Between tradition, culture and a modern way to live, love is the answer for the three actors: Raghu Dayear, Ajay Sharma, Vishal Patil.

The whole Indian culture runs on 50/50. So it depends. We are talking in general. They don‘t want to argue. They want to get lucky. Love is the answer – love to themselves and love to their family. But what’s in their heads, is not in the heads of the three young men. It‘s a man‘s world, but it would be nothing without a woman or a girl. What is the answer?
