A composer is a dead man unless he composes for all the media and for his world, wrote Fluxus artist Dick Higgins in the mid-1960s.

With this in mind, the one-day workshop will focus on the integration of state-of-the-art technologies into contemporary music and multimedia compositions, touching on technological areas such as physical computing, extended reality technologies, IoT technologies, machine learning and artificial neural networks.
The workshop will also present its participants with a new artist-in-residence program organized in cooperation between the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Mumbai and the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe. It is aimed at artists who work at the interfaces of music to more experimental forms and who are particularly open to transcultural production processes.
