Welcome to the fifth dialogue in the BeFantastic Dialog Series Creating TechArt. This series unpacks the practices of a carefully curated set of mentors who are part of BeFantastic Together, an online Techart fellowship.
For this session we bring together women who are at the helm of various initiatives and organizations from the UK, Singapore, Germany, Switzerland and India, who have been successful in proliferating discourse around TechArt. The dialog takes a cue from Dr. Patricia Gestoso from the Kaspersky report saying “you can’t be what you can’t see” and seeks to discuss the trajectories of women leaders at various intersections of art and technology so as to make these paths visible to a new generation of women who might be drawn towards these fields. The dialog would also discuss the role of mentorship and investing in a community of support for women leaders, the role of optimism for a more inclusive future with the acknowledgement of gender-specific difficulties faced while remaining a celebration of the journey so far.
Panelists:
Jahnavi Phalkey, Founding Director, Science Gallery, Bangalore
Honor Hargar, Art Science Museum, Singapore
Giulia Bini, Curator EPFL Pavilions, Lausanne
Natalie Kane, Curator of Digital Design at V&A, London
Rachel Uwa, Founder, School of Machines, Making and Make Believe, Berlin
