Weekend-Summer Film Appreciation Course
Federation of Film Societies of India (Eastern Region) joins hands with the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata to bring you an intensive course designed for a comprehensive understanding on ‘how to read cinema’ and offer insights into the existing nature of cinema, including the recent developments like digital revolution and new media. The course is primarily designed to meet the needs of the students, teachers, film society activists and other film enthusiasts in general.
The curriculum includes theoretical study about the history of cinema as an art form and its development as the most powerful medium of communication. Through this course the participants will be exposed to different components of cinema like time, space, mise-en-scene, genres, movements, and other aspects like fiction, non-fiction, narratives, screen-play, production designing, camera, light, sound, editing and more. Participants will also be introduced to the rapidly changing scenario in the field of film production and its expansion in the new media.
Each session will be conducted by relevant experts from India and Germany.
