About Sabrina Janesch:
Sabrina Janesch, born in Gifhorn in 1985, lives with her family in Münster and spent her childhood between Germany and Poland.
She studied creative writing and Polish studies and travelled through Europe, Asia and South America after her studies.
Sabrina Janesch worked in theatres, museums, was a town clerk in Danzig/Poland and wrote about her travels and encounters for various media. Ms. Janesch has received numerous grants and awards for her novels, e.g. the Mara Cassens Award (2010), the Anna Seghers Award (2011) and the Annette-von-Droste-Hülshoff Award in 2017. Her favourite topics include intercultural aspects of home, identity and family.
Sabrina Janesch's novels have received excellent reviews in international and national newspapers, she is a Spiegel bestselling author and winner of the renowned Annette-von-Droste-Hülshoff Award.
Her qualifications and experiences include readings, moderation, writing workshops (English and German) for teachers / lecturers (at schools, universities and other educational institutions), literature enthusiasts etc.
