Venue: Instituto Cervantes New Delhi Register for the Event The Long Night of LiteratureS is back with renowned authors from 13 European countries presenting their work. At this evening-long event at the Instituto Cervantes in Delhi, writers from across Europe will be reading to and interacting directly with audiences.

AUTHOR FROM GERMANY: Julia von Lucadou

Julia von Lucadou was born in 1982 in Heidelberg, Germany. She holds a PhD in film studies and has worked as an assistant director, a television producer, and a simulated patient. Her first novel "The High-Rise Diver" (OT "Die Hochhausspringerin") was awarded the Swiss literature prize and shortlisted for the Swiss book prize. It has been translated into English, Italian and French. Her second novel "Tick Tack" was published in 2022 and was adapted for the stage in 2023. 

ABOUT THE EVENT

The format encourages audiences to listen to several authors throughout the course of the evening. Each author reads to an audience of about 20 people for 20 minutes. The audience moves on to the next room to listen to another author, reading from their chosen work of literature. This concept allows the audience a very intimate space and personal interaction with authors from 13 European countries.

The Long Night of Literatures is a joint event of Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi, Alliance Francaise de Delhi, Institut Franςais en Inde, Pro Helvetia New Delhi, Embassy of Switzerland, Instituto Cervantes New Delhi, Camões-Portuguese Embassy Cultural Centre, Austrian Embassy, Liszt Institute – Hungarian Cultural Centre Delhi, Embassy of Czech Republic, Polish Institute New Delhi, British Council, Ukraine Cultural Institute, Embassy of Slovenia and EU Delegation in India.
