Workshop 27.05.2025:

On 27 May at 8 PM (OEZ) we invite you to an online workshop in the Art Meets Tech series on voice and creative (re)use. The history of voice technologies such as the vocoder and autotune shows that the creatively interesting often lies in their ‘(utilisation)’. However, the current wave of AI-powered voice technologies is based on exploitable vocal labour by artists, which challenges us to rethink the concept of ‘creative exploitation’. It is expanding into a broader ecosystem of voices and datasets.

No registration needed.

This workshop introduces the new open, hackable and playfulvoice synthesis instrument Tungnaáand discusses the cultural, economic and ethical significance of ‘creative exploitation’ in music based on ‘voice data’.
