Heinz Schilling
(born: 23.05.1942 in Bergneustadt), Historian
Heinz Schilling studied History, German Literature, Philosophy and Sociology in Cologne and Freiburg. He worked as a lecturer before he gained his post-doctoral qualification and taught as a Professor of History in Osnabrück, Gießen and Berlin. He also worked as a consultant for historical television films. He published several writings on his main topic – early modern history. His extensive work on the reformer Martin Luther received special acclaim: Martin Luther: Rebel in a time of upheaval (2012).
