Building Civic Ecosystems

IN TRANSIT is a European networking platform for citizen-led urban regeneration initiatives to exchange knowledge, best practice and new ideas.

It brings together a range of ground-breaking civic initiatives that are pro-actively instigating and developing innovative and sustainable measures to improve living conditions and create opportunities for civic engagement within their neighbourhood and beyond. As an international platform supporting exchange of knowledge, best practice and mutual learning between peers, IN TRANSIT aims to facilitate far-reaching synergies for today’s civic movers and shakers.

In a series of differently themed workshops across Northwestern Europe, IN TRANSIT discusses and advances a range of burning aspects relevant to each location and the respective participating initiatives. An opportunity to meet international, like-minded instigators; compare organisational set-ups and strategies; discuss key findings and bounce off ideas, workshops focus for example on  themes including social polarisation, access to space, alternative housing models, etc.

London workshop: 'Building Civic Ecosystems'
Themed 'Building Civic Ecosystems' London IN TRANSIT partners Civic Systems Lab (Laura Billings &Tessy Britton) will work together with a team from the Goethe-Institut to conduct a packed two-day event in Hackney, East London. We are thrilled to welcome citizen-led organisations from Röstånga (Röstånga Tillsammans), Oslo (Hauskvartalet), Dublin (Connect the Dots), Rotterdam (Afrikaanderwijk Cooperative), Berlin (ExRotaprint), and Liverpool (Homebaked) to London for this event.
