Film Biene Maya (Maya the bee)

Free Film Screenings for Schools

The Into Film Festival is a free and annual celebration of film and education for schools and young people across the UK.

The Festival, formerly known as the National Youth Film Festival, takes place between 9th November – 25th November 2016. It aims to help educators bring learning to life for 5-19 year olds by inspiring young people to watch, make and understand film in new and creative ways.

As part of the festival nationwide screenings of German films will be offered.

Synopsis
Maya's first experience of life in the hive leaves her feeling flat. No-one seems to share her curiosity and excitement for the big wide world, and she starts to worry that she's not like all the other bees. Not understanding their importance, Maya breaks the bee rules and is banished from the hive. Alone in the meadow, Maya, determined to fit in and make a difference, befriends an unsuspecting grasshopper and unwittingly one of the bees' natural enemies - a hornet named Sting. Together they're unstoppable. Good job as there's a plot to tumble the Queen Bee from her throne! Based on the original German stories, this Australian revision and eco tale is simply charming.
