With English National Ballet Philharmonic (Pina Bausch's Le Sacre du Printemps)
Matthias Burkert, who holds joint responsibility for music at the Tanztheater Wuppertal, will be working with English National Ballet Philharmonic on Stravinsky’s iconic
Le Sacre du Printemps (Rite of Spring) score ahead of the Company’s performances of
Pina Bausch’s choreography of the same name, which will be performed with live music at Sadler’s Wells in March.
Matthias has worked with Tanztheater Wuppertal since 1979 and will assist English National Ballet Philharmonic with the presentation of the music, spending one day with the conductor and one day at an orchestral rehearsal for musical direction and handover.
The Goethe-Institut London is pleased to be supporting the musical preparation of Pina Bausch’s
Le Sacre du Printemps (Rite of Spring).
