a film by Fatih Akin

Join our film club evening to watch 'Solino' by Fatih Akin. The film will be screened in German with English subtitles.

The epic family tale 'Solino' spans 20 years of the family Amoto and starts with the story of how the Amato family brought pizza and pasta to Germany’s Ruhr area in the Sixties. Swept along with the first wave of immigration to the 'economic wonderland' of West Germany, Romano Amato, his wife Rosa and their two sons Giancarlo and Gigi travel from Solino in Italy to Duisburg and establish the first Pizza restaurant in town. The restaurant thrives and the children get used to the German lifestyle until the brothers fall in love with the same woman.

The film is screened as part of our monthly film club which is open to everyone interested in German cinema. The films are screened in German with English subtitles, which makes them suitable for all language levels.
