Goethe-Kino is our monthly series of contemporary German cinema, outstanding TV productions and film classics. All movies are shown with English subtitles unless otherwise specified.

We are offering screenings at the Goethe-Institut London on the last Wednesday of every month. We are delighted to continue our online Goethe-Kino and you will be able to stream the film for a short period on our Goethe on Demand platform following its cinema screening.

Do keep an eye on our Goethe on Demand platform for other films and special programmes. In 2024, we are presenting the series "Stadt, Land, Fluss" (City, Country, River) with a new film being available at the beginning of each months.  Just follow the link on the right of this page.

Share your thoughts on the films via social media using #GoetheKino.

Clara is doing her PhD in philosopy at a Berlin university. Clara knows she has moved on but defining her place in the world - as mother, daughter and woman with a brain - is another matter.
