Artist Shen Xin presents a live interpretation of her films that investigate moving image and performance through the scripted and the informative, examining how emotion, judgment, and ethics circulate within individual and collective subjects.
Presented as part of
Park Nights 2017, the Serpentine’s experimental, interdisciplinary live platform, programmed for the Galleries’ annual architectural commission, the Serpentine Pavilion – which is this year supported by the Goethe-Institut.

Shen Xin is the recipient of the BALTIC Artists’ Award, with an exhibition at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead (2017). By focusing on interpersonal complexity and political narratives, her films often aim to generate reflexiveness to dismantle dominant power structures.
