Photographs by Beth Chalmers
Beth Chalmers is a photographer living and working in Glasgow, Scotland. During trips to Nürnberg in September 2016 and January 2017 as part of the Hermann Kesten Scholarship, she created a series of documentative, 35mm film photographs.
'New Neighbourhoods' is a continuation of the study of existing in different environments. The images portray both back corners and wide open spaces, touching on themes of nostalgia and routine. With an emphasis on lines and an imperfect aesthetic, 'New Neighbourhoods' shows the city of Nürnberg from a newcomer's perspective.
