Workshop Who's in your book? Diversity in Children's Stories

The “DRIN” project © EL BOUM

Fri, 17.09.2021

Goethe-Institut Irland

You can all look forward to getting to know books like "Julian is a Mermaid" or "Samus ganzer Stolz".
Children’s books shape the world view we grow up with. It is important for children to be able to recognize themselves in stories, illustrations, and narratives while at the same time, to learn about the different realities of life around them. Storyteller Simone Schümmelfeder introduces new children’s books written in German as well as books from Ireland and discusses them with children. The young audience is invited to share their ideas of diversity in books.
