John Xaviers is an artist and a storyteller, who has been involved in contemporary Indian art also as a curator, educator and art professional. He is a Programme Officer of Arts Practice at India Foundation for the Arts. He did his PhD in Art Theory from the School of Arts & Aesthetics, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi (2015). John was the Assistant Curator of the 4th Kochi Muziris Biennale. He taught art theory at the School of Art and Performing Arts at Shiv Nadar University, Noida from 2015 to 2018. John curated a group show titled Apple in Dream Mode at Mumbai Art Room in Colaba, Mumbai in June 2018. He served as Assistant Curator at Devi Art Foundation, Gurgaon from 2009 to 2011. As a self-taught artist, John had a solo show of paintings titled The Rise and Fall of Tigerabad Empire at the School of Arts & Aesthetics, JNU in 2012 and has exhibited in India Art Power 100 and Karmaleaks in Sarai Reader 09: The Exhibition at Devi Art Foundation curated by Raqs Media Collective.
