The third dramatised reading in the series 'German Spotlight 2019' is Sabine Harbeke's And Now (und jetzt), directed by Surabhi Vasisht.

And Now is based on the 9/11 attack. Sabine Harbeke was in New York for 6 years and had moved to Zurich shortly before 9/11. The city is close to her heart. When she came back to New York, she observed that people's behaviour had changed. There was fear. Through the play, Sabine Harbeke chooses to show the disaster’s reverberations on the people she knew and met.

The play doesn’t aim to tell one story. It gives little glimpses into people’s lives and says "this is one possibility of how people feel now".

The play was chosen because of its fragmented structure. There are multiple stories within the play which seem to be connected in some way but yet very individual. It was a tough script to understand at once, but left the director with strong emotions and some images.
