Shadow-Theater Performances with Patricia Thoma
Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan Pune, in collaboration with Fergusson College, Pune, presents Shadow-Theater Performances by Patricia Thoma.
Patricia Thoma, a German fine artist and picture book illustrator, will present her shadow theatre „The twelve dancing princesses” by the Grimm`s Brothers at Fergusson College Pune. Using illuminated oil paintings in combination with silhouetted figures, she combines the European tradition of oil painting with the Asian tradition of shadow theatre.
Patricia Thoma, whose works have been honoured with many prices and awards, has shown her theatre in many cultural institutions worldwide, such as the Konzerthaus Berlin (Germany), the Asian Puppet Theatre Museum Taipei (Taiwan) and the Children`s Cultural Centre in Paju Book City (Korea).
