Play title: Quality, Reliability

Established in 2007 by the local government of Szombathely, Hungary, the Weöres Sándor Theater is led by the former CEO of the National Theater in Budapest, Kossuth-Prize-winning actor and director Tamás Jordán. His vision is that a theater can serve as both a place for performances and also a forum and meeting point for the community. The theater’s ensemble has grown to include 30 actors from well-known Budapest theaters and smaller cities. The initial performances were held in a former military culture center, which has since been rebuilt to become the final home of the theater. Weöres Sándor produces classical plays, musicals, and light comedies alongside contemporary plays and modern forms created by some of the most acknowledged directors in Hungary and distinguished international guest artists.

Play Synopsis: After a party in his honor, András, a popular and successful leading actor at a state-run theater, is called into theater manager Zoltán’s office. Zoltán explains to him that his contract with the theater is not being renewed. The reason given is that he is unreliable but András discovers that it is actually because of his activities online.
