The workshops

The workshop(s) will take place at your school, or the Goethe-Institut alternatively.
  • Available dates: 17th, 18th, 19th or 20th June 2024
  • Workshop details: 20 participants, 3 hours with breaks
  • Costs: Free of charge, for state schools only
Please note: Partnering with schools from your network to bring different pupils together enhances your chance of receiving the free workshop.

Body as instrument

During the 3-hour-workshop, participants will discover their bodies as instruments and transform their personal stories into inspiring song lyrics, both in German and their mother tongue/heritage language.

Working with a range of creative exercises and personal stories, the community-focused workshop inspires and empowers participants to develop their musical skills and self-expression - in German and beyond!

How to apply?

Contact Pauline Wick, stating the preferred date(s) and location of your school. Please also note that this workshop has a strong focus on pupils of the global majority. In your message, please address why a workshop with this focus would be of particular interest to your school (100-150 words).

About the artists

Celina Bostic

Celina Bostic has long had a firm place in the German music scene. The Berlin singer-songwriter was part of the Farin Urlaub Racing Team, a backing singer for Max Herre, Udo Lindenberg and Herbert Grönemeyer and an arranger for Nena and Samy Deluxe. Today, she confidently steps into the limelight - her song "Nie wieder leise" (Never Silent Again) was the anthem of the German Black Lives Matter movement in 2020 and also the credo of her music. Celina wants to empower, initiate conversations about taboo topics and encourage people to stand up for themselves, no matter what the norm says. Her album covers topics such as birth trauma, discrimination and flight, but also identity and community. Celina manages to convey these topics with ease and without pointing a finger, often even with humor and wordplay, thus creating a musical safer space for fans and family of choice in which everyone can feel seen and heard.
