For over twenty years Siemens has been proud to support the All Ireland Secondary Schools German Debating Competition in partnership with the Goethe-Institut and the German Language Teachers Association. Each year it is truly inspiring to hear young Irish people so comfortable and so at ease speaking the German language. Indeed, it contrasts to my own fumbling efforts to learn German on dark Tuesday evenings in Merrion Square in the early noughties, struggling to have my “hausaufgabe gemacht”!

For Siemens, our association with Goethe Institut has built many bridges that stretch beyond the business world and we as a company take our role in the community seriously.  For me personally, the engagement has made many enriching connections and rewarded me with many happy memories.
