Meet our Guests
C.A.R.
C.A.R. visited the Sub-continent on a musical tour through 11 cites in Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India from November-December 2017. C.A.R. describe their sound as a “quest for musical spirituality in the twenty tens” developing a trip-like melange of jazz and electronics, improvisation and experimentation, science fiction and film noir, krautrock and cyberpunk.
Johannes Klingebiel
My first impression of India…Colors, honking.
Things in Delhi that remind me of my hometown Cologne…
There are streets, houses and flowers. That’s about it with commonalities.
One thing I’ve noticed in India (that’s not so typical in Germany)…
There’s too much honking.
An enduring memory of India…
How in the morning in Kovalam the whole village gathers on the beach to bring in the fishnets together. And honking.
Kenn Hartwig
My first impression of India…Colorful, massala, gigantic.
Things in Delhi that remind me of my hometown…
I can’t think of anything. New Delhi and Cologne are very different.
One thing I’ve noticed in India (that’s not so typical in Germany)…
Ordered chaos reigns, in Germany on the other hand, it’s more ordered order.
An enduring memory of India…
A begging child in a Spiderman costume on the outskirts of a market in India.
Christian Lorenzen
My first impression of India…I’d heard in advance about all the people and the traffic. What surprised me in Chennai was that the streets were dead at night.
Things in Delhi that remind me of my hometown…
Really not a lot. Delhi is really much different.
One thing I’ve noticed in India (that’s not so typical in Germany)…
Cars honking. Obviously people honk their horns in Germany too, but they use them more sparingly.
An enduring memory of India…
The Pataleshvara Temple in Pune. At dusk. It’s very peaceful and a nice contrast to the busy streets.
Leonhard Huhn
My first impression of India…Magnificent.
Things in Delhi that remind me of my hometown…
The rainy night drive from the airport to the city center reminds me of my hometown Berlin.
One thing I’ve noticed in India (that’s not so typical in Germany)…
That spices are sold out of open sacks.
An enduring memory of India…
There were endless impressions and my trip on the whole was amazing and unforgettable.
