Technical requirements and FAQs

In order to access the lectures, you need to create an account on our learning platform. Simply follow this link and fill out the form. 

Your password may not meet our security requirements. Please note that your password must consist of at least 8 characters and include at least one of each of the following: a number, a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter and a special character, such as * or #.

You can begin your studies with any of the three subject areas and watch the lectures in any order.

An exercise is complete when 2/3 of the answers are correct.

In order to access the exercises, you must first catch the words that are displayed on the screen during the lecture – to do this, left-click on the words as they appear.

You might not have enabled cookies in your browser settings. We use two types of cookies on our website:

Type 1, “MoodleSession,” is necessary to use the platform. You must accept this type of cookies in order to pass from one page to the next without having to re-enter your username and password every time. If you leave the system or close your browser, these cookies are deleted both in the browser and on the server.
 
Type 2, “MoodleID” is for ease of use. This cookie stores your login information on the browser. This means that the “login” field is already filled out when you return to the page. You can block this type of cookie, but it means that you will have to enter your username in addition to your password every time you enter the system.
 
Please set up your cookie preferences accordingly in your browser. You can find more information about this through the technical support info for Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome und Apple Safari.

You can earn up to four badges for solving the exercise problems. One badge is awarded for the first three exercises; the second badge is awarded for the bonus exercise. If the exercises are solved in German, you can earn two additional badges. The exercises do not need to be answered in German in order to advance through the course of studies, however. This is only a small bonus for those who are already learning German.

Yes, our lectures are also formatted for tablets and mobile devices.

The following technical requirements are ideal for using our learning platform:

RAM	At least 192 MB RAM
Operating system	Microsoft Windows7 or later; Mac OSX 10.6 or later
Software	Adobe Flash Player 11.2 or later
Graphics	Graphics with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and 16 million colors
Browser	Most recent version of Internet Explorer ® (32-bit-Version) Most recent version of Firefox ®  Chrome (most recent version) Apple Safari (most recent version)
Internet	Internet speed of at least 400 kbits/s

On the teacher account, you can download free didactic materials in PDF format.
 
On the parent account, you can follow your child’s progress and see which levels your child has mastered.

If you requested a new password, but have not received an email from the website administrator, it is possible that you do not yet have an account on our platform and are only registered on the Goethe Institute’s website. In order to set up an account on our learning platform, please fill out the form on  this page.
